Full Job Description
Golden Plains Community Hospital is seeking a full-time Assistant RN Director for the OR/DSU department. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with additional on-call responsibilities. The Assistant RN Director serves in multiple capacities, including caregiver, decision maker, client advocate, manager, rehabilitator, communicator, and educator. Responsibilities include assessing patient needs, developing and implementing care plans, and evaluating outcomes using the nursing process. All practices follow professional nursing association standards to ensure safe, competent, and high-quality care that upholds patient dignity.

QUALIFICATIONS: The following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job:
Education and formal training:
  1. Graduate of a school of nursing.
  2. Currently registered in the State of Texas, as an RN.
  3. BLS is required by first day of employment.ACLS and PALS are required within three months of hire. TNCC is required by eighteen months of employment
Work Experience:
  1. Two years of OR/DSU experience preferred.
  2. Must be able to provide direct and supervise patient care.
  3. Demonstrated leadership, teaching and management skills.
  4. Attend all mandatory meetings.
Knowledge, skills and abilities required:
  1. Must be able to identify and address the special needs of patients of all ages, including neonate, pediatrics, adolescent, and geriatric (unit specific) and be able to effectively communicate with the patients.
  2. Demonstrate the ability to perform the technical skills and critical thinking outlined in the performance standards.
  3. Must be able to successfully pass required exams.
  4. Demonstrate teamwork, self-direction, and teaching skills.
