Pay: $38.46/hour (additional $5,000 annually for bilingual candidates fluent in eligible languages)

The Assistant Director of Behavioral Health Services will provide support to the Director of Behavioral Health Services in the in the development, implementation, and maintenance of program clinical operations, expectations, practices, and business goals. To this end the Assistant Director will share responsibility for outpatient and home-based clinical services and will have direct responsibility for a service area including intake and assessment and/or some aspect of the clinical care.

Support the Director in ensuring that the goals and objectives of the site are met and act on behalf of the Director in their absence or as requested.• Manage day-to-day operations of outpatient and home-based services to ensure that the highest quality clinical care is provided and documented in keeping with best practice standards, regulatory standards and agency standards.• Ensure that clinicians and counselors under the AD’s purview meet or exceed productivity expectations.• Work with the Director of Behavioral Health Services to ensure that all training, quality assurance, and compliance standards are met in the center, and have specific responsibility for the documentation in service area specialty (OP or home-based)• Compose oneself with professionalism, ethical practice, and compassionate regard for consumers/clients. To this end, the Assistant Director should demonstrate competency, reliability, honesty, integrity, respectfulness, continued learning, effective collaboration, positivity, mutual support, active listening, and attention to the responsibilities of the job. The Assistant Director should dress neatly, professionally, and appropriately to the situation. The Assistant Director should communicate orally with etiquette, honesty, respectfulness and composure; written communication should demonstrate excellence and be in keeping with the policies and procedures of the agency.• Behavioral health clinical care may be provided through outpatient services, CBHI services, DCF Support & Stabilization Services, and/or residential setting. The services may include but are limited to: individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, open access & assessment, clinical consultation, and/or clinical case management.• Through the role of Assistant Director, model a supervision philosophy and clinical practice that:o Promotes client-centered care that adheres to best practice standards and recognizes “client voice and client choice,”o Recognizes the multiple perspectives of clients and their caregiving systemo Is cognizant of and actively developing clinical skills that support inclusion, equity and diversity of people that might otherwise be marginalized or oppressed.o Utilizes active and reflective listening as well as the exchange of supportive and effective feedback related to issues of clinical care and practice as well as general performanceo Orients oneself in a strengths-based approach,o Develops an understanding of the impact of trauma and substance abuseo Provides positive regard, empathy, curiosity, respect, and professionalism,o Establishes and maintain clear expectations and strong professional boundaries,o Attunes to the client and his/her family and natural support system,o Ensures that clinical care meets medical necessity, ando Remains cognizant of and proactive about any issues of safety / risk.• Manage clinical service specialty area such that all program specifications, policies and procedures, and other regulatory requirements are met.• In conjunction with the Director of Behavioral Health Services, recruit, hire and train staff as needed. To this end, assist with the personnel management including the training, supervising, evaluating and supporting the diversity of our staff and interns, as well as taking a leadership role in performance management, progressive discipline, and professional development of staff and interns. Provide direct supervision to staff at the site as appropriate to credentialing, licensure, and programmatic expertise and as required by regulatory entities.• In collaboration with the Director of Behavioral Health Services, develop a budget/s for the program, monitors budgets regularly and ensures that all productivity expectations are met or exceeded.• Ensure that any issues or concerns related to risk (client risk, staff risk, facility risk, and/or programmatic risk) or ethical misconduct are immediately brought to the Director and the AVP and/or VP, and the CEO if needed.• Review reports on a daily, weekly, monthly and as needed to ensure that information related to insurance, authorization, eligibility, productivity, copayments, failed activities, waitlists, and other reports

Job Duties:• Serve on inter-agency or external committees, as needed.• Represent the agency at community events, as appropriate.• Work in an integrative, collaborative, and supportive fashion with other departments within the agency, and provides assistance as needed.• May provide occasional trainings inside or outside the agency as needed, within the scope of expertise.• Provide direct clinical services as determined and/or as appropriate.• Serve periodically as part of the on-call/after-hours rotation.• Other duties as needed.• The Assistant Director may hold responsibility for developing specialty service area competency and/or for coordinating the daily operations of a specialty program, including clinical services and program operations. Specialty programs and clinical services may include JSI, Substance Use Services, Psychological Assessment, PUNCH, BRACE, Early Childhood, Middle Childhood, Adolescence, Transitional Age Youth, and Adult clinical services. May also provide and/or coordinate services for programs

Demonstrated strong knowledge of child/youth and family clinical care, as well as mental health, educational, developmental care, child welfare, and juvenile justice systems. Proof of a valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and personal transportation to fulfill essential job functions is required. Privately owned vehicle has current and valid state registration and safety inspection sticker, is safe, and is ensured according to the minimum state requirements (pertaining to bodily injury and liability). As per Massachusetts state law, driving under the influence of any substance is against the law, prohibited, and may be grounds for immediate termination. Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion, confidentiality, collaboration, and independent judgment. Demonstrated ability to be innovative, creative, analytical and decisive in problem solving. Ability to work effectively with others.• Knowledgeable of program specifications (either outpatient or CBHI), regulatory requirements, licensing requirements, credentialing requirements, HIPAA, and other laws and regulations related to clinical care.• High level of knowledge and competency with direct psychotherapeutic clinical care, including risk assessment, safety planning, general comprehensive assessment, treatment planning, service delivery, discharge planning. Ability to ensure that clinical care meets medical necessity and that service delivery meets all compliance standards.• Ability to supervise, manage and direct program staff including administrative staff, program directors, clinical supervisors, and clinical staff.• Active CANS certification, required.Education, Licensure, and Experience:• Master’s or Doctoral Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or related field required.• Independent Licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as an LICSW, LMHC, LMFT or licensed psychologist.• Minimum of 3 years clinical and supervisory experience in behavioral health setting (Outpatient and/or CBHI/Home-based service delivery), preferably working with child, adolescent, and family services• Minimum of 1 years of program coordination/management experience.• Familiarity with Electronic Health/Billing Record required.• Bilingual (Spanish/English) capabilities preferred.

 Must be able to perform sedentary aspects of position, including, but not limited to desk and electronic work, driving to meetings and trainings, as well as driving/transporting clients as necessary. Must be able to perform the duties listed above, with or without a reasonable accommodation. Employee may be required to intervene in order to de-escalate and/or provide safety and if essential, provide physical management of clients, using methods and techniques approved by Y.O.U., Inc and appropriate to ambulatory and home-based settings. Employee needs to complete the agency’s human service worker safety and/or home-based worker safety training.
