Assistant Professor of Political Science

Job Description:

The Department of Political Science at Barnard College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the subfields of comparative politics and/or international relations. We are particularly interested in scholars focused on South Asia (especially India), the Middle East, American Foreign Policy, technology/social media and politics, data and politics, race/ethnic politics, and/or the global politics of immigration/migration.  


We seek candidates who show exceptional promise in their scholarship, and who demonstrate the potential for publication in major refereed journals and/or University presses. Candidates should also demonstrate excellence in teaching at or beyond the level of teaching assistant. 


The start date for this position is July 1, 2027.

Salary: $95,000 to $115,000

Candidates must have a PhD in hand by the start of the appointment.
