Full Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:

Supports the improvement of student achievement by being an instructional leader with experience in curriculum and instruction, staff development and the development of a positive school culture.

Leads educational change initiatives by utilizing effective collaboration, essential standards, formative assessments, proven instructional methods to improve learning and instruction.

Uses knowledge of curriculum development, systematic and explicit instruction, and effectively uses student performance data for program implementation and evaluation to ensure student learning outcomes.

Provides leadership and expertise in assessing, identifying, formulating, and implementing the District's goals and objectives as well as maintains and carries out adopted policies of the Governing Board.

Establishes and maintains effective relationships with staff, students, parents, the public, and community agencies in the performance of duties.

Develops and administers disciplinary procedures in accordance with District policies and State laws; receives referrals and confers with students, parents, teaches, and community agencies; investigates, evaluates, responds to and resolves parent, student, and staff complaints; serves on discipline or expulsion panels as assigned.

Chairs or participates in a variety of school and District-wide committees as assigned.

Attends, supervises, and schedules a wide variety of curricular and extra-curricular activies including athletic events, dances, meetings, and others.

Assures the health, safety and welfare of students. Coordinates and supervises campus security; assures appropriate staffing levels and assignments; contacts police or other authorities as needed to maintain the safety and security of students, staff, and facilities.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:Administrative Services credential required. Prefer a minimum of five (5) successful secondary-level classroom teaching or pupil personnel services experience. Demonstrated effective instructional leadership. Administrative experience. Master's Degree with emphasis in curriculum, instruction, leadership and administration.
