Essential Job Functions:
Support the Plant Manager in planning, organizing, and directing all plant activities to meet production schedules and quality standards.
Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, procedures, and established safe work practices; report all unsafe conditions or behaviors to the Plant Manager and/or EHS Manager.
Lead by example and promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Supervise, manage, and develop employees, including performance management, coaching, and disciplinary processes in accordance with collective bargaining agreements.
Coordinate with maintenance, quality, logistics, and engineering teams to maintain optimal production flow and minimize downtime.
Monitor production metrics to ensure that targets for safety, quality, cost, and delivery are consistently achieved.
Assist in evaluating equipment capacity and performance; recommend and implement improvements to meet monthly and long-term production goals.
Maintain accurate departmental records, ensuring compliance with company retention and destruction policies.
Communicate regularly with the Plant Manager regarding plant performance, personnel issues, production schedules, and operational challenges.
