POSITION OVERVIEW

Are you a Transportation Planning/Logistics, and Marketing professional? Santa Barbara Metropolitan Transit District is looking for an Assistant Planning and Marketing Manager. With Santa Barbara MTD, you can positively impact your community on a daily basis, help enhance the mobility of South Coast residents, and help manage a fiscally sound transit system.

Under the direction of the Planning and Marketing Manager, the Assistant Planning and Marketing Manager develops the implementation of transit planning, route planning/run cutting and scheduling, and service delivery studies. You'll analyze route and schedule performance for areas of improvement. This position also administers and oversees department staff engaged in complex marketing and public information projects for the District, including managing on-bus advertising program, providing creative and technical direction and project oversight; performing community outreach and coordinating events/presentations within the local community and local K-12 schools, colleges and universities.

COMPENSATION PACKAGE
  • Annual Salary Range: $98,838.27 - $123,547.84
  • Budgeted Annual Salary: $98,838.27 - $111,193.05

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with major course work in communications, business administration or marketing, public administration, urban or regional planning, urban studies, geography, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or a related field OR any combination of education and experience to fulfill the duties of the position.
  • Computer and software proficiency to include Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Google Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, and ArcGIS.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university, with major course work in communications, business administration or marketing, public administration, urban or regional planning, urban studies, or geography.
  • Two to five years of supervisory experience.
  • Public agency experience.
  • Transit planning/scheduling/run-cutting experience; Logistics Management experience.
  • Marketing and Planning experience in the transit or transportation industry.
  • Advanced Microsoft Access skills.
  • Experience with Clever Reports, Swiftly, SurveyMonkey, and farebox software.
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish (speak, read, write).

PRE-EMPLOYMENT PROCESS

The process includes a job specific pre-employment physical and drug screening under Department of Transportation regulations to be completed by an industrial health clinic of MTD's choice, criminal background screen, and verification of employment.
