Job Summary
Our Nurses work in collaborative environments with strong interdisciplinary teams, focused on a patient centered care model in a richly diverse work space. Under the direction and general supervision of the Nurse Manager, the registered nurse utilizes evidence based practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, policies and procedures of the hospital and as directed by the medical staff. The registered nurse who through knowledge and ability uses the nursing process to develop a plan of care which includes standards of practice to meet the physical, emotional spiritual, cultural and educational needs of the patient and family.
The assistant nurse manager supervises a work group to ensure that a high quality, cost-effective product or service is delivered in support of the hospital's strategic plan, and the function's goals and objectives. They model the effective, efficient operation of the unit by scheduling and assigning work, resolving processing problems, collecting data to monitor progress, and carrying an assigned workload or filling in as necessary. While continually strives to improve quality and productivity by identifying improvement opportunities, and recommending and implementing changes. They will implements and monitors departmental goals and objectives for the work group that align with the strategic direction of the organization, by analyzing needs and developing recommendations. The assistant nurse manager will implements individual performance expectations; coaches, develops, and provides input to performance evaluations to enable employees to be successful in contributing to the achievement of individual and work group objectives.

North 12 is one of the largest medical units in the system. They utilize a Clinical Nurse Leader to help support the team as a resource during off shift hours. Their patient population may encompass any general medicine patient, and typically have multi system symptoms.

Qualifications:
• Current Connecticut RN License.
