Job Description:- Prepares the unit for audits and surveys, by monitoring and maintaining unit compliance with regulatory standards, accrediting, hospital policies while coordinating staff education to maintain competencies and preparedness.
- Manages nursing staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and optimal patient care.
- Provides ongoing education and training to nursing staff to maintain high competency levels.
- Promotes evidence-based practice, ensuring quality outcomes, and fostering a culture of safety, compassion, and continuous learning.
- Conducts regular staff meetings to communicate updates, address concerns and provide guidance. Assists in developing, implementing, and evaluating ongoing service programs to ensure quality nursing and patient care.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Manages budgets and resources efficiently to meet financial and operational goals.
- Manages assigned direct reports including recruitment, hiring, coaching, disciplinary actions, development, education, competencies, performance evaluations, and payroll functions.
- Demonstrates critical thinking skills, creativity, and resource management to achieve quality performance and positive employee relations.
- Fosters a culture of psychological safety, where the team members feel supported, valued, empowered to speak up, share concerns, and contribute meaningfully.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:- Possess a broad nursing knowledge, leadership ability, accepts responsibility, exercises authority, and functions independently. [Required]
- Possess insight for employee growth and development and the ability to do effective impartial counseling. [Required]
- Working knowledge of budgets and healthcare finance and leadership capabilities. [Required]
- Has ability to work a varied schedule, to include night and weekend hours, with visibility to all shifts. [Required]
- Must be able to use all systems (i.e. Clairvia, Capacity Management) as required on unit. [Required]
Education:- Associate's of Nursing [Required]
- Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]
Work Experience:- 3+ years prior leadership experience in team leader role [Required]
- 5+ years acute care nursing experience [Required]
Licenses and Certifications:- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) [Required]
- Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
