Full Job Description
Redwood Credit Union is seeking an Assistant Manager of Quality Assurance (Functional & Automation) who will help ensure RCU's digital and enterprise solutions deliver a reliable, secure, and positive experience for Members. This role blends hands-on functional testing expertise with leadership in test automation, while managing and mentoring QA team members. The Assistant Manager partners closely with internal technology teams to embed quality throughout the delivery lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

o Lead and Manage QA team with a balance of functional testing and Automation for testing efforts across digital banking and enterprise systems.
o Own QA delivery for assigned initiatives, ensuring quality, security and regulatory expectations are met prior to release.
o Ensure comprehensive test coverage including functional, regression, integration, and UAT support.
o Design, build, and maintain automated tests for Web, API, and system integrations.
o Partner with external vendors, internal technology teams, and business partners to support release readiness and production stability.
o Establish QA standards, quality metrics, and continuous improvement practices.
o Coach, mentor, and support the development of QA team members.
o Ensure testing processes align with regulatory, audit, and security requirements.
o Communicate testing status, risks, and quality outcomes to stakeholders.
o Establish strong partnership across Technology and Business Teams.

Minimum Qualification: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Functional testing experience for complex business workflows.
  • Automation tools (e.g., Playwright, Selenium, Cypress).
  • API testing (e.g., Postman, REST APIs).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft-based development and testing tools.
  • Understanding of IT operations and Release Management practices.
  • Experience in financial services or other regulated environments preferred.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.


The ideal candidate has a combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree and a minimum of six years of quality assurance experience with a mix of functional and automation testing. Prior management experience leading or mentoring QA team members is required.

Compensation: Base starting range: $115,037 to $151,561 annually commensurate with experience.

Our base salary starting range is based on scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, and internal peer equity. Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, sit, walk, twist, and turn.
