ABOUT THE ROLE

The Assistant HR Manager will manage and execute core employee processes, programs and operational functions that support the employee experience across Farmacy Beauty and Each & Every brands.

You will serve as a key operational partner across the business, managing day-to-day HR operations while also leading projects and initiatives that improve employee experience, engagement, communication and organizational effectiveness.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves building scalable processes, and is passionate about creating a seamless and positive employee journey from onboarding through offboarding.

The ideal candidate is highly collaborative, operationally strong, people-focused, and energized by both strategy and execution. This role will report to the Director, Human Resources- Farmacy + Each & Every.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Employee Lifecycle Operations

Own and manage end-to-end employee operations processes, including:
  • New hire onboarding and orientation coordination
  • Offboarding and exit processes
  • Employee documentation and records management
  • HRIS updates and maintenance
  • Equipment and systems coordination in partnership with IT
  • Background checks and employment verification requests
Payroll & Benefits
  • Own and manage bi-weekly payroll process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
  • Partner closely with Finance and external payroll providers to resolve discrepancies, maintain records, and support reporting needs.
  • Manage and administer employee benefits programs including enrollments, life events, open enrollment, and employee education
  • Partner with brokers and vendors to support employee wellbeing initiatives and continuously improve benefit offerings and processes
Employee Experience & Support
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries related to policies, benefits, payroll, systems, and general People Operations support
  • Deliver a high-touch, responsive employee experience while ensuring consistency and compliance across all processes
People Programs & Project Management

Lead and support cross-functional employee initiatives and People projects, including:
  • Employee engagement initiatives
  • Culture-building programs and events
  • Performance management support
  • Internal communications
  • Process improvement initiatives
  • Policy rollouts and operational change management
  • Track timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communication to ensure successful execution
Compliance & Process Improvement
  • Help maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations and internal policies.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve workflows, documentation, systems, and employee-facing processes to drive operational efficiency and enhance employee experience.
Recruiting & Talent Operations Support
  • Lead end to end recruiting for identified roles
  • Source candidates, manage Applicant Tracking System (ATS) applicants, host interviews, and partner with hiring managers.
  • With oversight from the Director and in partnership with Brand Marketing, manage the company LinkedIn pages and employer brand presence. Develop and publish content that highlights company culture, employee experience, brand values, team moments, employee milestones, and key People initiatives.
Cross-Functional Partnerships
  • Collaborate across People, Finance, IT, and Operations to ensure smooth execution of employee processes and initiatives
  • Build trusted relationships across the organization

Requirements

  • 3+ years relevant HR Generalist experience, ideally in Beauty or Consumer Goods
  • Strong people and relationship skills, with an ability to connect with employees across all levels
  • Experience managing onboarding, offboarding, payroll, benefits and other employee support processes
  • Strong experience with HRIS, payroll, benefits and recruiting platforms (e.g. ADP, UpWork, Workable, etc).
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-service mindset
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Proactive problem-solver who can navigate ambiguity comfortably
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Ability to commute to the NYC office a minimum of 2 days/week
  • Authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship from employer. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this role.

  • Estimated Salary Range: $71,000 - 90,000 per year (pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience).
