Assistant General Counsel

  • Work location: Texas Health Resources
  • Core Work hours: Monday - Friday; 8:00a-5:00p; Hybrid work opportunity
    Position Summary

The Assistant General Counsel will provide dedicated legal support to hospitals, service lines, and system initiatives, helping to manage regulatory compliance, operational risk, contracting, medical staff matters, and enterprise projects.

The AGC has the following duties and responsibilities:

Represents and advises in all legal matters for THR hospitals, THPG, or other THR System Services departments. Handles a wide range of legal responsibilities as assigned. Assists with interpretation and application of State and Federal rules.

Participate as a member and/or attend various committees and/or meetings.

Bachelor's Degree Required
And
J.D. Required

Experience
7 Years Legal experience Required
and
5 Years Legal experience in specialty area of position Required
Healthcare Law experience is Strongly Preferred

The primary focus of work experience in the hospital/health care industry should include Hospital operations. Medical malpractice experience is not relevant to this position.

Licenses and Certifications
JD - Juris Doctor by State Bar of Texas with in 6 Months of hire Required

Skills
Strong academic credentials, excellent writing and speaking skills, ability to relate to all levels of personnel within THR as well as medical staff members.
