About the Position: This position is located at the USAJFK SPECIAL WARFARE CENTER & SCHOOL in Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Duties

Help

  • Develops strategic and long-range planning and programming for the proponent's DOTLMPF-P responsibilities.
  • Directs proponent initiatives and integration. Leads and is responsible to the Director for the determination of requirements and development of future force capabilities.
  • Provides leadership, professional guidance, decisions, advice, and assistance on all matters pertaining to the Branch and to civilian personnel management.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET (SCI) security clearance.
  • In accordance with AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, the incumbent must successfully pass a urinalysis screening prior to the appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) up to 25% is required for this position.
  • Must be able to work in demanding physical conditions in various types of terrain and weather, sometimes in hazardous conditions.
  • May be required to wear and/or use protective equipment normally associated with live fire operations and in accordance with established health and safety regulations and SOPs.
  • Incumbent is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, (5CFR Part 2634, Subpart I USOGE, 6/08).
  • A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience Developing strategic and long-range planning and programming for the Special Forces (SF) proponent's Doctrinal, Organizational, Training, Material, Leader Development, Personnel and Facilities (DOTLMPF-P) responsibilities. Providing guidance and direction on training, doctrine, proponent requirements and systems, capabilities, and force structure. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).

  • This position requires a 1 year probationary period during which the agency evaluates your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest.
