Full Job Description
Summary:
The Assistant Director of Finance (ADOF) is responsible along with the Director of Finance (DOF) for the oversight of the hotel's general ledger financials. Additionally, this position will be responsible for efficiently running the Finance department in line with Hyatt Corporate standards while meeting guest and owner expectations. Other responsibilities will include the following:
  • Assist with supervising Finance staff including coaching and counseling colleagues to reflect Hyatt service standards and procedures, interviewing, training and evaluating performance of staff.
  • System administrator for programs related to accounting functions.
  • Manage and help oversee hotel on-site accounting functions to ensure proper fiscal management, timely and accurate reporting and presentation of the monthly financial analysis for the hotel. This responsibility also includes:
    • Hotel financial planning and budgeting in Hyperion
    • Accounting for multiple business units
    • G/L journals
    • Account reconciliations
    • Fixed assets
    • Cost controls
    • Inventories
    • Tax reporting
    • Payroll functions
    • Cash management
  • Assist with completing year-end audit process. Review and approve all reconciliations and audit work papers. Participate in and respond to auditor requests to ensure total hotel compliance.
  • Assist with special reporting and analysis projects.
The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $100,000 annually, based on luxury resort and branded hotel experience level in finance. This is the pay range that Alila Napa Valley reasonable expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors including experience, and education.

Qualifications:
  • 2 or more years of progressive accounting and finance experience, preferable in hospitality
  • Experience supervising accounting staff members
  • Prior POS (Infrasys or Symphony), Oracle, Kronos/UKG Dimensions, Birchstreet, Opera, and other Hyatt systems experience is a plus
  • Must be an advanced user of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds
  • Must possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, effective communicator, effective in providing exceptional customer service and ability to improve the bottom line
  • Clear concise written and verbal communication skills in English
