Responsibilities

Full Job Description
Assistant Director of Finance

As Assistant Director of Finance, you will play a key leadership role in delivering all accounting, finance, and business support functions across the hotel. You will partner closely with leaders across the property to drive performance, ensure strong financial governance, and support strategic decision-making, while leading and developing a high-performing finance team.

This is a full-time, permanent position, starting as soon as possible.

Pay Range: $105,000 - $115,000 per annum, dependent on experience and qualifications

Job Duties Include:
  • Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the finance department, mentoring and developing the team while driving engagement and performance
  • Leading month-end, preparing and delivering accurate financial reporting including forecasts and variance analysis
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and audit requirements
  • Oversee accounting operations including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and cash management
  • Ensure all income audit, revenue reporting, and reconciliations are accurate and timely
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning processes to optimize results
  • Partner with operational leaders to provide financial insight and support decision-making
  • Analyze labour, food & beverage, and operational costs to improve profitability
  • Drive process improvements and maintain financial systems and tools
  • Maintain compliance with all legal and fiscal requirements impacting the hotel


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field (CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred)
  • Previous experience in a senior finance leadership role (e.g., Controller or hotel Director of Finance level) preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting, financial reporting, or analysis, including leadership experience
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical accounting skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
