Position requires up to 10% travel throughout the state of Texas. Weekends and evenings possible to support course implementation, including during summer, spring, and fall professional learning institutes and enrollment deadlines.

Purpose

Position leads the development and implementation of two business of bioscience courses in partnership with other colleges and units at The University of Texas at Austin to ensure quality implementation of OnRamps dual enrollment courses. Position leads the design, implementation, and evaluation of distance, hybrid, and in-person student learning, and professional learning experiences that elevate instructional practices across OnRamps. Role requires deep expertise in educational psychology, curriculum theory, pedagogical content knowledge, with a strong foundation in K 612 teaching and administrative experience.

Responsibilities
  • Leads a team to develop two courses related to the business of bioscience for effective implementation using client parameters and in collaboration with cooperating departments. Ensures the courses meet quality standards that reflect The University of Texas at Austin and OnRamps dual enrollment courses and meets required timelines for delivery.

  • Ensures the development of a facilitated network of OnRamps Instructors through leadership of course staff and implementation coordinators to provide intervention, system-level support, or just-in-time support via online, telephone, and in-person communication and leads virtual conferences. Develops innovative strategies to promote online and in-person community of learning and knowledge exchange.

  • Leads ongoing implementation and facilitation of the OnRamps Professional Learning year-long cycle across multiple courses with the goal of providing instructors data driven sessions designed to increase student success. Identifies areas for continuous improvement and leads course staff in the implementation of coaching and instructor support strategies that meets needs across courses.

  • Leads OnRamps course staff to successfully support OnRamps Instructors in implementing courses with fidelity along the OnRamps Four Pillars. Provides guidance and coaching, allocates and oversees work, manages work schedules, and promotes and supports employee development using proven methods. Works with course staff to develop and implement interventions as needed. Designs and use data-driven approaches to ensure ongoing staff growth and program improvements.

  • Utilizes adult learning and cognitive learning science theories to ensure the effectiveness of course development and continuous improvement cycles of the business of bioscience courses to increase success of Instructor implementation and overall student success. Supports the process through coordination of resources and direct content development and review.

  • Collaborates across multiple teams within the organization, across departments, and other units at the university to ensure effective delivery and implementation of the courses. Develops systems with the OnRamps Partnerships team to ensure effective recruitment cycles on an annual basis.

  • Develops and manages budgets for course development, student recruitment, and effective implementation in collaboration with the Executive Director and administrative staff. Monitors expenditures and completes reports in compliance with requirements stipulated by the University and grants administration. Maintains and submits financial records and other documentation as required.

  • Applies standard evaluation procedures to analyze data and monitor, evaluate, and document program outcomes through recurring issue tracking and reporting. Utilizes data to apply principle of continuous improvement to OnRamps Instructor experience, student learning, and special projects.

Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree in education, instructional design, organizational development, public administration, business, or a related field.

  • Experience leading teams to meet goals and strategic outcomes.

  • Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to engage multiple internal and external stakeholders with decorum and tact.

  • Ability to communicate technical information to lay audiences using a respectful, client-focused approach.

  • Demonstrated understanding of high school teaching and learning.

  • Proficient in Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) or another LMS.

  • Demonstrated ability to teach oneself new things, develop mastery, and adjust to rapidly changing needs with an organization.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's or Doctoral degree in education, instructional design, organizational development, public administration, business, or a related field.

  • Experience developing curriculum, preferably for online delivery.

  • Experience developing and maintaining online professional learning communities for students and/or teachers.

Salary Range

$100,000 + depending on qualifications
