As Assistant Controller, you'll assist in monitoring the company's financial status and managing day to day accounting transactions.
Position is fully remote.
Responsibilities- Reconcile multiple bank accounts
- Provide accounting support to all other department managers and staff (billing and collections, marketing and sales, call center, clinical)
- Ensure compliance with accounting and tax regulations
- Assist with monthly close and producing financial statements
- Assist in the financial duties of starting up new markets
- Manage merchant account reconciliation and issues and PCI compliance
- Work with insurance claims team on claims funds reconciliation
- Manage petty cash and cash deposits with surgery managers
- Manage intercompany transfers and funding sheets
- Handle equipment asset accounts and loans
- Annually handle 1099's and unclaimed property
RequirementsSkills- Work experience as an Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, Senior Accountant, or similar role
- Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and accounting principles and procedures
- Hands-on experience with general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
- Experience with cash management and bank reconciliations
- Experience with monthly close and preparing financial statements
- Experience with intercompany transfers and merchant account reconciliation
- Experience handling 1099's and unclaimed property
- Experience supporting and interfacing with other departments in a customer-service-oriented way
- Experience with multi-location and multi-entity operations
- Experience working with billing and collections teams is a plus
- Experience managing other accounting staff members is a plus
- Experience in a dental support organization is a plus
Experience:- QuickBooks: 3+ years (Required)
- Accounting Management: 5+ years (Required)
Education:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred
