Job Description

Summary

This position will be a financial leader for Special Metals. The position will work under the guidance of and assist the Controller in preparing and reporting the financial statements and reports conforming to the principles, financial rules and regulations of accounting and regulatory requirements. The main focus of this position is to ensure financial statements are in accordance with management's requirements and assist operations in cost strategy and savings. This role is also responsible for all aspects of Financial Reporting, Budget/Forecast, Accounts Receivable, Credit, Accounts Payable, Invoicing, Fixed Assets, State and Local Taxes, and SOX compliance.

Essential Functions
• Assist in managing Special Metals New Hartford/Dunkirk financial departments and participate on the site management team.
• Provide strategic direction and input as part of the Senior Staff of New Hartford.
• Accountable for balance sheet analysis including provision calculations and reconciliations.
• Actively identify cost savings and process improvement opportunities throughout Special Metals.
• Responsibility for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the operation's financial statements.
• Responsibility for maintaining an effective Cost accounting system and financial reporting structure.
• Accountable for balance sheet analysis including provision calculations and reconciliations.
• Provide leadership to strengthen the internal control environment and compliance for the business unit. Coordinate with internal and external auditors.
• Participate in the review of capital expenditure requests to compl y with corporate guidelines and for proper financial returns.
• Financial and operational policy controls and implementation as directed by PCC corporate or division management.
• Annual budget and forecast preparation and review.
• Prepare and organize operational review materials including monthly and quarterly reporting and on-site visits.
• Administer systems and policies to effectively measure financial and operational performance.
• Report on financial status of operational plant(s) to Division staff on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
• Manage the monthly consolidation of financial cost results for division management prior to submitting the final version to corporate.
• Manage long and short-range operational planning and performance measurements, including profit planning, expense budgeting, asset utilization, cost standards, savings opportunities, capital investing and labor tracking.
• Prepare specialized reports as needed by operations, division, and corporate management.

Qualifications

Education and Experience
• BS in Accounting or Finance (advanced degree or certification preferred).
• Minimum 4 - 8 years financial management experience in progressively responsible positions within global, multi-site/cultural organizations, a demonstrated track record of accountability and achievement.
• Comprehensive knowledge of policies, procedures, and practices.
• Strong analytical skills required.
• Strong skills and knowledge of accounting theory, application of financial principles (GAAP) & Standard Cost Accounting.
• Knowledge and experience managing financial operations in a global, multi-site environment.
• Demonstrated track record of financial control and analysis within a complex manufacturing environment (primary metals manufacturing preferred).
• Working knowledge of IT; ability to recommend changes and upgrades to meet the needs of the business.
• Strong managerial presence that reflects a "hands-on", participative, pro-active operating style.
• Moderate domestic travel required.

• Liaison with auditors including internal, external and SOX audits.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $83,800 to $125,600 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 2X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.

This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)).
