The RoleWe're looking for an
Assistant Controller to join our collaborative accounting team in
Everett, WA. You'll work closely with the Controller and lead a talented group of professionals, including Accounting Managers, Property Accountants, Payroll and AP & Cash Reconciliation. Your focus will be on supporting the team, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and partnering with our operational colleagues-from Store Managers to Regional and District Managers-to help the business thrive.
This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys coaching, mentoring, and collaborating with a highly capable and internally driven team.
What You'll Do- Lead, mentor, and support a talented accounting team across multiple functions
- Oversee the monthly 5-day close process across 160+ entities
- Partner with operational teams to provide financial insights and support day-to-day operations
- Support and optimize our systems: NetSuite, AvidXchange, and Emburse
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and workflows while keeping things practical and scalable
- Maintain consistency and accuracy in financial reporting and accounting practices
What We're Looking For- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in multi-entity environments
- Real estate or property management experience is a plus
- Understanding of payroll operations and payroll-related accounting is desired
- Strong collaborative leadership skills and experience mentoring team members
- Excellent communication skills and comfort working closely with operational colleagues
- Systems-savvy and open to process improvements
