Job Responsibilities:

  • Salary Range: $110,000 - $130,000 per year
  • Manage the month end process from reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations through preparing financial statements and variance analysis.
  • Supervision of A/P and  A/R staff, providing support and guidance.
  • Maintains fixed asset subledgers and records monthly depreciation.
  • Ensures accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close.
  • Provide financial analysis and advice as required to Senior Management (GM/AGM/Controller).
  • Ensure that a complete and accurate set of accounting records are maintained according to generally accepted accounting principles and following corporate procedures and internal controls.
  • Assists with preparation and OS data load of the business plan and periodic updated forecasts as well as subsequent monthly variance analysis.
  • Leads the preparation of the annual audit file and co-ordinates with external auditors in their subsequent examination of the division’s financial statements.
  • Responsible for the preparation and submission of tax package requirements as set out by Magna Tax.
  • Observes all Federal/Provincial Regulations including standards for safe working conditions as outlined in the Occupational Health & Safety Act as well as Policies and Procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Full compliance with all administrative / clerical requirements within Magna Structures Meadowvale as well as compliance with current Customer standards and procedures / quality programs and Environmental Management Systems Standards.
  • Participates / encourages participation in Continuous Improvement / Suggestion Programs
  • Perform other assignments as requested by management from time to time as well as making Manager/Designee aware of problems/slowdown in work area so can be assigned further duties

Educations and Experience:

  • Accounting designation CA/CGA/CMA and a degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Proficient in use of computer software programs, including Microsoft Office suite and ERP systems
  • Good command of the English language both verbal, written.
  • Must be able to work in a strict confidential environment.
