The Assistant Controller's chief tasks include but are not limited to:
- Reconcile and/or oversee all G/L accounts
- Reconcile and/or oversee bank account reconciliation
- Reconcile loan payments and maintain loan schedules and spreadsheets
- Monitor cash flow and project funding requirements
- Manage cash applications and billing accuracy
- Fixed assets management & reporting
- Oversee and manage all aspects of the general ledger, including fixed assets and lease accounting (ASC 842).
- Prepare and/or oversee various reporting of federal, state, and local tax
- Assist in preparation of financial statements
- Assist with annual financial audits
- Prepare and or oversee various management reports
- Oversee the operation of accounting activities for all entities
- Develop and maintain documentation system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk and to ensure consistency and compliance across the organization
- Oversee production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) or international financial reporting standards
- Work with external auditors and provide needed information for annual audits
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local government requirements
- Provide guidance on accounting matters and cross-functional projects, ensuring alignment with GAAP and business objectives.
- Produce lease schedules according to ASC 842
- Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned
Required skills:

- Excellent organizational skills and time management
- Strong financial analysis, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Proficiency with large ERP systems, accounting tools, and advanced Excel; experience with Vista/Viewpoint accounting software is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration
- Ten years or more of related experience required
- Construction industry experience is a plus.
