Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with AR, AP, and plant teams to resolve transactional issues.

  • Provide weekly financial forecasts for the designated site.
  • Identify and execute cost reduction and profitability improvement initiatives with plant directors.
  • Manage capital planning for maintenance and cost reduction projects.
  • Collaborate on the annual budgeting process down to P&L account level.
  • Lead ERP implementations and serve as the contact expert for the system.

Position Overview

Within the Global Health Care - North America (GHC-NA) segment of Rigid Packaging Solutions International (RPSI), we have an Assistant Controller position with certain aspects of reporting responsibility for our 7 plants. Our plants are located in:

Ahoskie, NC

Brookville, PA

Cranbury, NJ

Franklin, IN

Greenville, SC

Millville, NJ

Youngsville, NC

This is a remote position, but will require regular on-site work with the local management teams. The key focus is on top and bottom-line performance, along with minimizing working capital. It will require travel to all 7 sites when participation is needed with plant operations and divisional management as needed for best practice sharing, or other initiatives.

Financial Leadership & Reporting
• Ongoing Position Requirements

o Work with AR, AP, and the plants to assist in solving transactional level issues, including purchasing, inventory control, and master data maintenance.

o Track working capital balances for inventory, AR, & AP on a monthly basis and provide comments and recommendations on a weekly basis.

§ Inventory with reserves and turnover by cost of sales $ and volume sold in lbs/metric tonnes as Inventory Days on Hand

§ AR past due reporting with overall AR balances by sales as Days of Sale Outstanding.

§ AP balances with days of spend outstanding.

o Complete monthly financial closing and reporting requirements on-time - specifically plant P&L reporting and balance sheet reconciliations for your designated site along with commentary on variances.

o Provide accurate weekly financial forecasts for the month, current quarter, and the following quarter, for your designated site.

o Provide all other required weekly and monthly reporting requirements including key metrics

§ Accuracy and deadlines are key to each of these duties.

o Work closely with plant directors and divisional leadership to identify, measure, and execute ways for improving the profitability of the business, especially continuous improvement / cost reduction activities and ongoing risks & opportunities analysis.

o Capital planning and analysis for plant maintenance and cost reduction projects.

o Financial management of open company funded and customer funded capital projects.

o Assist in managing the annual budgeting process from gross sales to P&L account level down to EBITDA, and then build a depreciation and working capital budget to EBIT.

o Understand, implement, and support implementation of best practices in all facets of the business.

o Ad hoc analysis as required by management, and other duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements:

o Training on US plants, structure and expectations, KPIs, P&L structure, variances, being part of IT team to organize implementation and support finance on any ad hoc request.

o Function as the group's ERP system / contact expert and lead system and IT platform conversions.
• Focus JDE implementation with IT team, training MV/YV teams, avoid any business disruption.

o Shift to junior controlling activities in support of the group's Regional Controllers.

o Development, justification, or review/approval of capital investment projects, including standard cost / contribution margin modeling and post project ROI analysis.

o Key contact for product line management, pricing, product development, sales, and supply chain with a focus on growing business in new technologies, winning business from competitors, and maintaining current business.
• This will include product margin reviews, pricing proposals, and rebate/incentive programs.

o Finance contact for production platform / infrastructure capabilities, including between plants.

o Team with AR & AP shared services groups to maximize cash flow including analysis of customer aged accounts receivables and credit level limits.

o Along with AR & AP, work with plant management & supply chain to maintain optimum inventory levels to minimize working capital.

o Team with corporate accounting, while understanding the business group owns the entire balance sheet and P&L.

Compliance & Controls
• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with corporate governance standards.
• Monitor and enforce adherence to Amcor's Code of Conduct and financial ethics policies.
• Ensure the facilities are Sarbanes-Oxley compliant down to a material transactional level.

• Support team members by collaborating and fostering good relationships.
• Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and ethical conduct.
• Promote cross-functional collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, and/or Finance

o 2-3 years relevant experience is preferred.

o Prior experience with ERP systems (preferably JD Edwards and SAP).

o Strong understanding of manufacturing operations desired.

o Understanding of actual manufacturing costing & standard costing systems, inventory, & master data control.

o Capability to build/maintain excellent rapport with facility management teams and divisional leadership.

o Ability to travel as needed up to 25%
