Assistant Construction Manager for our
Construction Management Team in the
San Francisco Bay Area, you'll play a key role in supporting the delivery of critical infrastructure projects that improve water quality, system reliability, and environmental sustainability. Working as an owner's representative, you'll collaborate with contractors, designers, and stakeholders to help drive progress across multi-year capital improvement programs in
Sunnyvale and/or
Union City.
What You'll DoAs our
Assistant Construction Manager, you will support construction management operations in the field, helping ensure projects stay on track while fostering strong relationships with project teams and stakeholders.
- Construction Oversight & Owner Representation: Support daily construction management activities, monitoring contractor work to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, schedule, and budget.
- Contract Administration & Documentation: Assist with RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation to support efficient contract administration.
- Project Tracking & Risk Identification: Help track project progress, identify potential risks or delays, and support proactive solutions to keep projects moving forward.
- Coordination & Communication: Collaborate with clients, contractors, designers, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and facilitate clear, consistent communication.
- Field Support & Issue Resolution: Participate in meetings, support documentation efforts, and assist in resolving field and contract-related challenges in a fair, solutions-oriented manner.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline
- Active California Professional Engineering (PE) license or Certified Construction Manager (CCM); or an Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification with additional applicable experience and the ability to obtain licensure within 2 years
- 5+ years of experience in construction management or the design of public works or heavy civil infrastructure
- Familiarity with municipal water/wastewater treatment plants, recycled water facilities, or similar industrial infrastructure projects such as oil refinery, power and/or petrochemical
- Knowledge of the construction process and the ability to read, understand and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications
- Ability to work on-site in active construction environments, including walking uneven surfaces, climbing, and exposure to varying site conditions
Compensation & Benefits- Pay Range: $135,200 - $168,480/annual (commensurate with experience)
