Full Job Description
Job Summary: Regis College seeks a faculty member with the vision and expertise to revise, revitalize, and direct our master's program in Criminology and (Critical) Justice Studies. The successful candidate for this 12-month position will help develop the program in ways that respond to student interests, the needs of today's communities, and Regis University's Jesuit commitment to justice and the common good. Major Duties and Responsibilities: • Direct all aspects of the MA program, including admissions, recruitment, advising, curriculum development, assessment, scheduling, coordination of affiliate instructors, and strategic planning. • Be a member of a vibrant Social Sciences division and contribute to the academic life and liberal arts mission of the college. Build relationships with people, organizations, and institutions working on issues of justice and public safety in Denver and Colorado, with the goal of creating opportunities for students to develop professional networks, pursue internships, and gain experience working with local agencies and organizations. • Develop a robust 4+1 accelerated Master's program for Regis undergraduates • Develop an innovative Master's curriculum in collaboration with faculty in Criminology, Sociology, and Justice Studies. • Teach graduate and undergraduate courses consistent with the candidate's expertise and the needs of the program and Regis College. • Produce relevant scholarship in criminology, justice studies, or a related field. • Mentor graduate students and support their career development and professional placement. Participate in service and other activities that contribute to the mission of the Division, College, and University. Qualifications: • PhD. or other appropriate terminal degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Sociology, Public Policy, Law, or a closely related discipline. • Demonstrated excellence in teaching and scholarship • Experience with online and/or hybrid teaching • Experience commensurate with Associate Professor level preferred • Evidence of successful leadership, collaboration, or program development Working Conditions: • Primarily office and classroom-based work in a university environment. • Regular use of computers, audiovisual equipment, and other standard office and instructional technology. • Position requires regular attendance on campus and may include occasional evening or weekend commitments related to teaching, university events, or program activities. • Some local travel may be required for community engagement, meetings, or program-related activities.
