GENERAL JOB FUNCTIONThe OpportunityCCWD is seeking two (2) skilled, motivated, and team-oriented Assistant/Associate Engineers to join the Construction Division in the Engineering Department. Additionally, positions may also be filled from this eligible list depending on the qualifications of candidates identified for the Engineering department. These appointments can be made at either the Assistant or Associate level, depending on the successful applicant's qualifications and will be located at our Administrative Office, in Concord, CA.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIESKey Responsibilities - Manage construction of new applicant services projects and a variety of emerging projects outside of the Capital Improvement Program.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers, contractors, and consultants.
- Develop project schedules and identify priority tasks and critical path elements.
- Coordinate contract change orders, submittals, and requests for information (RFIs).
- Administer consultant contracts, coordinating efforts between consultants and project stakeholders to ensure timely and effective project delivery.
- Communicate project updates and key issues to CCWD management, internal departments, partner agencies, local jurisdictions, private and public utilities, and the public.
- Promote safe project execution by coordinating Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and Energy Control Procedures (ECP), identifying construction hazards, and fostering a strong safety culture throughout construction.
- Assess and manage risks related to project scope, schedule, and budget to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Act as a technical resource, providing expertise and guidance across various CCWD initiatives.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION PHYSICAL DEMANDSWhen working in an office environment, must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone; ability to stand and walk between work areas is required. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator and to operate standard office equipment.
When working in the field, must possess strength, stamina, and mobility to perform light physical work; to sit, stand, and walk on level, uneven, or slippery surfaces; reach, twist, turn, kneel, bend, stoop, squat, and crouch in conducting inspections; to operate a motor vehicle and visit various District and meeting sites; and vision to conduct inspections. The job involves fieldwork requiring frequent walking in operational areas. Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
ENVIRONMENTAL ELEMENTS Employees work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions, and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances.
