Our Red Chris Mine, located in the heart of Northern British Columbia on the traditional territory of the Tahltan Nation. A short distance from Iskut and Dease Lake, Our fly-in, fly-out site offers access from various points across British Columbia and Alberta. Red Chris currently operates as an open-pit copper and gold mine with a promising future to transition to a high-value underground block cave operation. About the project

Red Chris is a gold and copper mine located in the Tahltan Territory, northern British Columbia. The mine has been in operation since 2015 and has been operated by Newmont since 2023.

Red Chris is now transitioning from open pit mining to underground block caving-an advanced mining method that extends mine life while reducing environmental impact. This transformation represents one of Canada's most significant underground mining developments and introduces new technical complexity, large-scale underground infrastructure, and opportunities to implement world-class systems and practices.

Your Impact

As an Administrative Assistant, you will provide essential administrative and coordination support that keeps project teams focused on safe and effective underground mine development. Your work ensures timely communication, reliable information flow, and efficient day-to-day operations across a large, multidisciplinary project environment.

As a part of our team, you will

  • Support daily administrative tasks for project leaders and technical teams.
  • Coordinate meetings, manage calendars, and help maintain smooth team scheduling.
  • Prepare, edit, and distribute correspondence, presentations, and project documents.
  • Maintain filing systems, project records, and document control workflows.
  • Assist with onboarding logistics, training coordination, and access requests.
  • Track and reconcile expenses, invoices, and procurement requests.
  • Support travel logistics for team members and contractors.
  • Monitor office supplies and site administration materials to ensure availability.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to support communication and information flow.
  • Uphold safety, confidentiality, and compliance requirements in all administrative processes.


Prerequisites for success in this role

  • Diploma or certificate in Office Administration, Business Administration, or related discipline.
  • Experience providing administrative support in mining, construction, industrial, or project-based environments is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and digital document management systems.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Your work environment

This role will support the Red Chris Block Cave Project located in northern British Columbia.

The position is fly-in fly-out and operates on a rotational schedule of 15 days on and 13 days off.

You will work in a remote, high-altitude mining environment, supporting the development and execution of a large-scale underground mining project.

Newmont provides coordinated transportation to and from site through designated marshalling points located in:
  • Vancouver
  • Kelowna
  • Calgary
  • Smithers

Travel arrangements are coordinated to ensure safe and reliable access to site.

The expected salary range for this role is CA$72,700 - 90,900 . This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate's pay history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about pay history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
