Reporting to the Director, Asset Optimization, the Asset Optimization Director (IC) serves as a senior strategic and technical leader and recognized subject matter expert responsible for shaping, translating, and driving execution of the asset optimization strategy. This role partners closely with the broader Operations & Asset Management organization and senior leadership to convert strategic priorities into actionable programs, initiatives, and targeted actions that deliver measurable outcomes.

Operating within a partnership model, this position leads portfolio-level problem solving and strategic performance management with a high degree of autonomy, owning cross-functional collaboration, structuring complex bodies of work, and co-designing and implementing solutions with stakeholders. The Director (IC) leverages influence across multi-disciplinary teams to drive alignment and results, while ensuring work is grounded in clear ownership, alignment, and value realization, and identifying systemic performance opportunities across the portfolio through cross-functional insight.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Strategy Translation & Execution
    • Translate asset optimization strategy into prioritized programs, initiatives, and targeted actions aligned to portfolio performance objectives
    • Define execution roadmaps, success metrics, and value tracking approaches to ensure end-to-end delivery and value realization
  • Portfolio-Level Problem Solving
    • Lead resolution of the most complex, cross-functional challenges impacting asset performance
    • Structure ambiguous problems and deliver scalable, repeatable solutions
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Alignment
    • Own integration across functions, aligning stakeholders on priorities, dependencies, and sequencing of work
    • Drive coordinated execution and eliminate fragmentation across work
  • Solution Co-Design & Delivery
    • Co-design and drive implementation of practical, scalable solutions with stakeholders
    • Support execution of complex or stalled work to ensure sustained impact
  • Partnership Model & Influence
    • Operate within the AO partnership model, supporting clear ownership and alignment across stakeholders
    • Influence senior leaders through structured insights, recommendations, and trade-offs
  • Team Development:
    • Contribute to the development of a high-performing asset optimization function


Job Requirements and Experiences:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or related field required; advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum 11 years of experience in Asset Management, Operations, Strategy or a related field
  • Strong leadership experience with demonstrated ability to manage and motivate teams
  • Minimum 4 years of supervisory and managerial experience; demonstrated leadership skills with solid track record of accountability and delivery of results
  • Strong working knowledge of budgeting, project management, and cost management tools, processes and software
  • Proven ability to lead, develop and provide training, feedback, performance management, coaching and mentoring to others
