About the Job

Asset Manager, Renewable Energy

Position Description:

Soltage is seeking an experienced Asset Manager to join its fast-growing Asset Management team. Building on the foundation of the Junior Asset Manager role, the Asset Manager independently owns day-to-day asset management workstreams for an assigned portfolio of solar and storage projects - including performance monitoring, reporting, and budgeting - with meaningfully greater autonomy and less day-to-day oversight. The Asset Manager is expected to proactively identify risks and opportunities, communicate insights that influence decision-making, and escalate only the most complex or high-judgment matters to the Senior Asset Manager or Asset Management leadership.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and manage the performance of Soltage's assets across multiple states, ensuring projects meet financial and operational expectations.
  • Own day-to-day asset management workstreams from start to finish, including reporting, budgeting, and performance tracking.
  • Generate, review, and validate asset data to ensure accuracy and consistency across reporting outputs.
  • Analyze asset performance data and communicate clear insights, trends, and recommendations to support decision-making.
  • Create and present written and oral updates on operating projects, including key performance drivers, risks, and opportunities.
  • Manage invoicing processes and coordinate cross-functionally with accounting and accounts payable to resolve discrepancies.
  • Develop and track project budgets, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain detailed operational and financial records across assigned assets.
  • Manage relationships with contract counterparties, ensuring timely, clear, and professional communication.
  • Independently communicate and collaborate with internal teams (finance, operations, development, etc.) to resolve issues and support asset performance.
  • Utilize Soltage's asset management software platform to access, analyze, and report on asset data.
  • Conduct financial and operational analysis for solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.
  • Identify and proactively flag risks and opportunities to internal stakeholders, with suggested next steps.
  • Contribute to process improvements and support the standardization of asset management practices across the portfolio.
  • Provide guidance and informal mentorship to Junior Asset Managers as needed.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of relevant experience in asset management, project finance, or a related role within the renewable energy or power industry.
  • Working knowledge of electricity markets and project financing structures (tax equity, partnership flips, inverted leases, non-recourse debt).
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and drive workstreams to completion with minimal oversight.
  • Strong analytical, financial modeling, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly to internal stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with asset management software platforms is a plus.
