GFT is seeking a Asset Inventory & Management - Assistant Project Managerto join our Construction ManagementTeam in Chicago, IL! This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our Chicago, ILoffice.

What you99ll be challenged to do:

This candidate will be responsible for analyzing and advancing the asset inventory and asset management practices for Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT). This role will focus on understanding the current asset management activities and establish a strategic roadmap, tools, and approach to modernizing asset management within CDOT.

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Conduct project kickoff, stakeholder identification, project planning and communication.
  • Facilitate discovery process to learn and understand existing asset management systems, data, and processes currently in use with CDOT.
  • Perform an inventory of data and systems to define approach for integration.
  • Create a Needs Assessment Report to set the vision, goals, and purpose of CDOT99s integrated asset management program along with a road map of activities including schedule, budget estimates, and return on investment projections to chart the course of adopting key asset management principles.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage data acquisition and asset inventory policies and procedures for CDOT.
  • Develop and deploy digital solutions to allow CDOT to effectively manage asset inventory and plan improvements more efficiently.

General Duties & Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Attendance at meetings and interaction with clients should be expected.
  • Help shape and advance enterprise GIS governance practices across a large, complex organization.
  • Partner with technical and business stakeholders to improve data quality, consistency, and lifecycle management.
  • Lead initiatives that strengthen GIS governance standards, documentation, and organizational processes.
  • Support strategic GIS planning efforts that improve operational efficiency and decision-making.
  • Promote collaboration and continuous improvement across enterprise GIS programs.
What you will bring to our firm:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Transportation Planning, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4+ years99 progressive experience directly related to Asset Management.
  • Prior experience working on projects inside the City of Chicago ROW is preferred.
  • Familiar with CDOT Rules & Regulations for work in the Public Right of Way is preferred.
  • Proficient with ARCGIS or similar software.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills are imperative.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with others.
  • Self-motivated, conscientious, and detail orientated.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
  • The desire to grow your knowledge, expertise, leadership skills, and relationships is desirable.
Compensation:The salary range for this role is $100,000 - $140,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location. Featured Benefits:
