GENERAL FUNCTION:
Directs Credit Risk Management (2nd Line of Defense) responsibility for one or more of the Bancorp Segmented Lines of Business (Middle Market Lending, Commercial Real Estate, Large Corporate Banking, etc.). Pursuant to the Bancorp Risk Framework, executes credit risk management strategies and policies, exercising independent judgement and providing constructive and credible challenge to credit risk recommendations, approves credits, providing feedback on proper structuring and pricing. Monitors ongoing credit administration and attends Line of Business pipeline meetings to ensure credit standards are followed across assigned business segment. Participates in customer calls as needed. Monitors credit quality through reviewing system-generated reports. Provides guidance on ways to improve strategic execution, effectiveness, efficiency and profitability in all aspects of the Commercial divisions of the assigned business area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Accountable for issues relating to policy, underwriting, risk appetite, etc. for assigned areas of responsibility.
- Attend and provide effective, credible challenge to the Line of Business (LOB) in various meetings including prospect, customer strategy discussions, administrative loan meetings and portfolio reviews.
- Approve credit requests within individual lending authority and recommends larger credit requests to higher authority levels.
- Make customer calls with relationship managers and product partners when appropriate.
- Review credit packages for those loans approved within the LOB27s lending limits. Provide feedback to the LOB when necessary, to ensure consistent application of Bancorp underwriting and risk appetite standards.
- Review periodic Bancorp credit quality reports to assess assigned business areas27 adherence to Bancorp commercial goals and objectives. Provide guidance where necessary to ensure compliance with standards.
- Monitor portfolio health based on current asset quality profile and forward-looking considerations, including but not limited to: macroeconomic factors, industry or geographic trends, and other risks that may impact asset quality.
- Perform various other oversight activities including individual loan relationships and portfolio reviews.
- Determine reporting needs regarding covered LOB and recommends solutions to improve efficiency and accuracy of various tasks/reports.
- Escalate material credit risk issues to Credit Risk Executive.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsible for providing employees timely, candid and constructive performance feedback; developing employees to their fullest potential and provide challenging opportunities that enhance employee career growth; developing the appropriate talent pool to ensure adequate bench strength and succession planning; recognizing and rewarding employees for accomplishments.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Bachelor27s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, or Accounting. Master27s Degree preferred.
- 7-10 years of progressive commercial lending experience and five years of direct experience with credit risk management.
- Three 6 five years27 experience leading teams.
- Knowledge of the banking industry, relevant banking regulation, commercial banking, capital markets, and treasury management products and the associated risks.
- Proficient in basic spreadsheet applications such as Excel, Word, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to learn and understand various computer systems.
- Excellent communications, organizational, and follow up skills.
- Excellent people/relationship building skills.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Normal office environment with little exposure to dust, noise, temperature and the like.
- Extended time at desk, viewing computer screens.
