AREA SALES MANAGER AVIATION - Northern USA States - Hiring Locations:- Dallas, Texas- Arlington Heights, Illinois- Livonia, Michigan Starting base pay is $80-85K, plus competitive bonus structureThe Sales Manager will be responsible for attracting new customers as well as maintaining the current customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their requirement. This should result in a pro-active business development approach allowing you to optimize sales in your territory which encompasses:
Arkansas, Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Nebraska, New Hampshire, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Wisconsin + Canada support (A&C products) + Central America (in Direct).
Main responsibilitiesAs an Area Sales Manager, your key responsibilities will include spearheading sales development efforts in the region, fostering enduring customer relationships by understanding their needs, and effectively managing sales projects from lead generation to Purchase Order registration and if needed follow-up until on-site delivery.
You will maintain a proactive approach to customer engagement, conduct equipment demonstrations, and actively participate in exhibitions and marketing events to promote our products. 30% minimum of your time Business Trips and 50% maximum.
Additionally, you'll identify opportunities for new equipment development, prepare business cases to support proposals, and ensure operational viability while reporting to the Sales Director of the aviation Division.
Your role will also involve maintaining sales databases, producing meeting reports, and offering support on specific ad-hoc projects such as tenders. Furthermore, you'll be responsible for preparing sales budgets and actively participating in sales meetings to contribute to strategic planning and execution. Your primary customer profile will include Original Equipment Manufacturers, Maintenance Repair & Overhaul facilities, Airlines, and Operators.
Qualifications - Requirements We're in search of a candidate with 3 to 5 years of experience in the aviation sector, ideally with technical proficiency in test equipment, particularly in avionics and electrical systems. Fluent English is a must, and proficiency in Spanish would be advantageous. The role entails both domestic and international travel and requires advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite. While a techno-commercial background is preferred, candidates with commercial education and technical product sales experience will also be considered.

- Successfully manage sales projects from lead until delivery on site
- Perform equipment demonstration to customers and prospects
- Organize and attend exhibitions/marketing events
- Identify opportunities for new equipment development, building up straight forward business cases to support new development, identifying and controlling risk and ensuring adequate returns for operations activity
- Maintain sales databases by inputting collected data and producing visit reports to management
- Take lead/Offer support on specific ad-hoc projects such as tenders
- Prepare sales budget and participate in sales meetings
Qualifications.- Working knowledge of the aviation industry (minimum 3 to 5 years' experience)
- Technical knowledge of Test equipment is a plus (with Avionics and Electrical knowledge)
- OEMs/MROs/Airlines sales experience
- Ability to plan, develop and execute multiple concurrent projects
- Strong commercial acumen, good communication skills, with the ability to develop 'partnership' relationships with customers
- Flexible to work in an international environment, without restriction to travel in-country and abroad
- Techno-Commercial education is a plus but Commercial education, along with Technical products Sales experience is fine.
