Job Description

Position Summary: The SubstationArea Manager is responsible for leading the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of substation infrastructure. This role ensures operational excellence, safety, and regulatory compliance while supporting strategic business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead substation teams and oversee client operations.
  • Manage all phases of substation projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and execution.
  • Prepare and review labor studies and project cost estimates.
  • Support proposal development and bid reviews for new substation work.
  • Manage staffing levels and workforce allocation across the substation division.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance on civil and electrical aspects of substation construction.
  • Maintain strong field presence and support crews with practical, solution-oriented leadership.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, customers, and regulatory agencies.
  • Communicate project updates and resolve stakeholder concerns effectively.
  • Promote continuous improvement and innovation across substation operations.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in construction or project management, with a focus on substations.
  • Proven leadership in managing field crews and large-scale infrastructure projects.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred but not required; significant industry experience, demonstrated leadership, and technical expertise in substation construction may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Experience at the district manager or director level preferred.
