Area Manager - Highway Lead - Eastern and Northern Ontario
Parsons is looking for a seasoned Area Manager - HighwayLeadto grow our business in Eastern and Northen Ontario. The candidate will have hands-on project management experience of at least 15 years and will take on a leadership role in our highways business involving both conventional and design/build projects for MTO or other highway programs. We have a long history of working for the MTO on highway improvement projects and want to take advantage of the relationship to grow this business regionally. Supported by a strong design team, the Highway Lead will be building a dedicated team and managing design projects upon award and assisting in the pursuit of new projects.
This role is ideal for a candidate withstrong hands-on large scale project management experience anda proven ability to lead major MTO highway assignments, particularly detailed design highway widening and interchange modification projects.You will lead the delivery and growth of Parsons97 highway business in theEastern and Northern Ontario, overseeing multidisciplinary civil design teams on conventional and design-build MTO highway projects. You will also support strategic client engagement and business development, while working with the existing design team to drive successful project execution and position Parsons for future transportation infrastructure opportunities across the region.
More specifically, the Highway Lead will be responsible for:
- Hiring,growing, coachingand providingleadership for staffincludingSenior Engineers with extensive Project Management experience working on and leading MTO projects to provide high-quality services and innovative solutions to complex design challenges involving multiple stakeholdersprojects for Eastern and Northern Ontario
- Leading the design of multi-million-dollar highway infrastructure projects, and taking a leadership role in developing and executing our business plan for roads and highways, and will oversee, manage and build our highway engineering team and portfolio of clients.
- Performing as a Program/Project Manager who is versatile, and who possesses exceptional communication, analytical, and management skills.
- Leadingand overseeingthe preparation of technical reports and documentation of activity for clients and project management and promoting technical excellence and quality assurance of project tasks and deliverables.
- Providingeffective and efficient management of relevant day-to-day operations, including scheduling, assigning and reviewing work to achieve project objectives and outcome measures.
- Maintainingan awareness of trends, developments and advancements in relevant fields and broader industry to retain technical competency and provide state-of-the-art services and advice to our clients.
- Acts as the representative with clients and selected subcontractors during project execution.
- Collaborates with Business Development to market and secure additional work with provincialandregionalclients.
- Assist in business development activities and undertake leadership roles in proposal preparation including assistance in developing project methodology, work programs, schedules, and budgets.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or related field)
- Must be Registered as Professional Engineer in Ontario (P.Eng.).
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant technical experience, including 10 years of successful technical leadership and project management experience
- Required experience with MTO, along with strong business development and client relationship management skills within Ontario97s transportation market.
- Demonstrated strong abilities and experience in developing, training, mentoring, motivating, leading and supervising a team of highly qualified professional staff
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Applied knowledge of published standards and guidelines from provincial governments and associationsas well as industry regulations.
- Excellent understanding of relevant and highway engineering issues and stakeholders97 requirements.
- Proficient in the application of specialized engineering and assessments software.
- Thorough knowledge of current technology and the capabilities and efficiencies of specific engineering software for use in completing engineering assignments.
- Proven experience leading multidisciplinary design teams on high-profiletransportationinfrastructure projects

La personne recherche9e possdera au moins15 ans d9exprience pratique en gestion de projetset assumera un rle de leadership au sein de notre secteur des infrastructures routires, notamment dans le cadre de projets conventionnels et de projets de conception-construction pour le ministre des Transports de l9Ontario (MTO) ou d9autres programmes de transport routier.

Vous dirigerez la ralisation et la croissance des activits de Parsons dans le secteur des infrastructures routires et du transport routier dans l9Est et le Nord de l9Ontario. Vous superviserez des quipes multidisciplinaires de conception civile dans le cadre de projets conventionnels et de conception-construction pour le MTO. Vous contribuerez galement l9engagement stratgique auprs des clients et au dveloppement des affaires. En collaboration avec l9quipe de conception actuelle, vous favoriserez la russite de l9exc9cution des projets et positionnerez Parsons en vue de futures occasions dans le domaine des infrastructures de transport travers la rgion.
Principales responsabilits
- Recruter, dvelopper, encadrer et diriger le personnel, notamment des ingnieurs principaux possdant une vaste exprience en gestion de projets et en direction de mandats pour le MTO, afin d9offrir des services de grande qualit et des solutions novatrices des dfis de conception complexes impliquant plusieurs parties prenantes dans l9Est et le Nord de l9Ontario;
- Diriger la conception de projets d9infrastructures routires de plusieurs millions de dollars;
- Jouer un rle de leadership dans l9laboration et la mise en uvre du plan d9affaires de Parsons pour le secteur des routes, des autoroutes et du transport routier;
- Superviser, gérer et dvelopper l9quipe d9ingnierie en infrastructures routires ainsi que le portefeuille de clients;
- Agir titre de gestionnaire de programme ou de projet polyvalent(e), possdant d9excellentes aptitudes en communication, en analyse et en gestion;
- Recruter, gérer, encadrer et diriger le personnel, notamment des ingnieurs principaux possdant une vaste exprience en gestion et en direction de projets du MTO;
- Diriger et superviser la prparation des rapports techniques et de la documentation destine9e aux clients et la gestion de projets;
- Promouvoir l9excellence technique et l9assurance qualit relativement aux tches et aux livrables des projets;
- Assurer une gestion efficace des activits quotidiennes, notamment la planification, l9attribution et la rvision du travail afin d9atteindre les objectifs des projets et les rsultats attendus;
- Se tenir au courant des tendances, des dveloppements et des avances dans les domaines pertinents ainsi que dans l9ensemble du secteur, afin de maintenir ses comptences techniques et d9offrir nos clients des services et des conseils la fine pointe;
- Agir titre de reprsentant(e) auprs des clients et des sous-traitants slectionns pendant l9exc9cution des projets;
- Collaborer avec l9quipe de dveloppement des affaires afin de promouvoir et d9obtenir de nouveaux mandats auprs de clients provinciaux et rgionaux;

Salary Range: $152,400 - $202,400
