Come join the growing team at one of Nova Scotia's largest manufacturing operations! Michelin Waterville is located in the heart of the Annapolis Valley, known for its many farms and vineyards, and home to some of Canada's oldest historical sites. This facility produces tires for transport trucks, off-road, and construction vehicles for the North America market.

The Opportunity

We have an opening for an Area Maintenance Manager whose responsibilities include leading a team of skilled dayshift & rotating technicians to support the reactive & planned maintenance needs of a production area within the facility. This position includes the evaluation of team efficiency and leadership of progress initiatives.

What You Will Do
  • ensure a safe work environment for all employees by ensuring equipment is in optimal operating condition and adheres to safety standards;
  • implement the maintenance strategy, monitor key performance indicators, and complete corrective and preventive actions to achieve short and medium term objectives;
  • lead and develop a team of multidisciplinary maintenance professionals to increase the durability of equipment and address obsolescence challenges;
  • enhance process reliability by implementing and ensuring the effectiveness of maintenance plans;
  • oversee and optimize the maintenance budget including workforce, supply, and services; and,
  • foster team development and empowerment, actively support succession planning, and collaborate closely with the Site Maintenance Manager to strengthen the team's leadership pipeline.

What You Will Bring
  • technical college diploma, bachelor or graduate degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • 3+ years of experience as a maintenance manager or supervisor;
  • 3+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment;
  • experience in coaching and employee development;
  • proven success in resource planning;
  • strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and resolve issues;
  • skilled in both written and verbal communication, with a talent for fostering strong working relationships with internal plant customers;
  • self-motivated, capable of setting and achieve goals independently; and,
  • demonstrated teamwork and leadership in an industrial environment.
