Full Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic Area Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager who is committed to world-class performance in safety, environmental stewardship, and employee well-being. We are seeking a proactive and results-driven professional to provide leadership and oversight across our Michigan and Ohio facilities. The role may be based at either site or a location between them and requires consistent on-site engagement at both facilities.

This position is well-suited for an EHS professional who thrives in building and sustaining effective safety systems, strengthening safety culture and driving continuous improvement beyond regulatory compliance. Experience with, or exposure to OSHA's Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) principles is highly desirable,

Responsibilities

  • Provide multi-site EHS leadership across assigned facilities to ensure consistent execution of company standards and expectations
  • Drive standardization of EHS systems, processes, tools, and best practices across locations
  • Identify performance gaps and implement targeted improvement initiatives across sites
  • Strengthen and influence a proactive safety culture at all organizational levels
  • Partner with plant leadership to reinforce accountability and ownership of EHS performance
  • Coach and mentor leaders and safety committees on hazard recognition, risk reduction, and safety leadership practices
  • Own and drive EHS performance metrics, including leading and lagging indicators
  • Analyze EHS data, trends, and risks to support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable regulatory requirements and company standards
  • Lead audits, inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations using structured root cause analysis methods
  • Maintain accurate EHS documentation, records, corrective actions, and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, and HR to integrate EHS into daily operations and projects
  • Support environmental compliance, contractor safety programs, regulatory inspections, and OSHA VPP readiness initiatives


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or a related discipline required
  • 5+ years of progressive EHS experience, preferably in manufacturing or industrial environments
  • Demonstrated experience implementing, supporting, maintaining, or improving EHS management systems
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations; OSHA VPP experience or familiarity strongly preferred


Travel: Up to 50%
