Full Job Description
Area Director, Northeast
Reports to: Regional VP

Lead More Than Boutiques. Shape the Future of Cartier.

At Cartier, our boutiques are more than places where extraordinary creations are discovered-they're where lasting relationships are built, exceptional experiences come to life, and the Maison is brought to life every day.

As an Area Director, you'll do more than oversee a portfolio of boutiques. You'll inspire leaders, elevate teams, strengthen client relationships, and shape the commercial future of one of the world's most iconic luxury Maisons.

Working closely with the Regional AVP and cross-functional partners, you'll connect strategy with execution-bringing people, ideas, and innovation together to create exceptional results for our clients, our teams, and our business.

How You'll Make an Impact
Lead the Business

You'll provide strategic leadership across multiple boutiques, creating an environment where commercial performance, operational excellence, and exceptional client experiences go hand in hand.

You'll identify opportunities to grow market share, strengthen client relationships, and elevate clienteling and omnichannel experiences while ensuring every boutique reflects the standards, elegance, and spirit of Cartier.

Success in this role requires a leader with strong commercial and financial acumen, experience managing a multi-unit luxury retail business, and the ability to translate strategy into measurable results.

Lead the People
Exceptional boutiques are built by exceptional leaders.

You'll coach and develop Boutique Directors, strengthen leadership capability, champion succession planning, and create opportunities for talent to grow across Cartier and Richemont. You'll foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous development where people can do their best work.

You're a leader who builds trust naturally, leads with humility and optimism, and understands that your greatest legacy is the people you've developed.

Lead the Client Experience
Luxury is defined by every detail.

You'll champion hospitality, service, clienteling, and omnichannel experiences that are unmistakably Cartier. By understanding your clients, your market, and emerging trends, you'll continuously elevate the experience while helping shape regional strategy alongside Corporate and Regional Leadership.

You have a genuine appreciation for luxury, craftsmanship, and creating meaningful experiences that clients remember long after they leave the boutique.

Lead the Maison
As one of Cartier's senior leaders, you'll serve as a trusted ambassador for the Maison.

You'll build meaningful partnerships across boutiques, Regional Leadership, Corporate functions, and Richemont while representing Cartier within the luxury community. You'll connect people, ideas, and opportunities to strengthen collaboration and create value beyond your own market.

You're an enterprise leader-someone who influences without ego, navigates complexity with confidence, and brings people together around a shared vision.

What You'll Bring
  • 8-10 years of progressive leadership experience, ideally within luxury retail or hospitality.
  • Proven success leading multiple locations with P&L responsibility and delivering sustainable commercial growth.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach leaders, build high-performing teams, and develop strong succession pipelines.
  • Deep understanding of luxury retail, clienteling, omnichannel strategy, and operational excellence.
  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field preferred.
  • Additional language skills and SAP experience are a plus.
  • Flexibility to travel and work retail hours, including weekends and client events, as business needs require.
