Job Description
The Technology Architecture & Engineering Department is responsible for worldwide technical strategy, design, implementation, and top level support for all core infrastructure. As part of TA&E, the Systems Engineering group is responsible for integrating various technologies including server OS, virtualization, storage, directories, email, security, and cloud platforms. We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated Infrastructure and Cloud Architect. The Architect should have in-depth experience architecting, implementing, optimizing and troubleshooting enterprise scale server environments including cloud based, hybrid and on-prem deployments. This involves all aspects of architecting the environment; sizing, stability, resiliency, security, growth planning, monitoring, etc. Infrastructure and Cloud are a broad field encompassing all aspects of Storage, Virtualization, Server OS technologies, BCDR and cloud. The Architect will set technical direction across these domains, defining the standards, reference architectures, and long-term roadmaps that guide engineering teams in designing, securing, and supporting infrastructure technologies.
Primary Responsibilities and/or Essential functions:
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend technical solutions to address business challenges.
  • Architect, engineer, and deploy to production technical solutions, including detailed architectural design documentation, standards, and reference architectures.
  • Transition systems from engineering to operations by providing documentation and training to technical staff.
  • Lead technical projects and sub projects across the department.
  • Serve as subject matter expert and internal consultant to other technical staff and groups.
  • Be the top level responsible party for escalated support, working directly with external vendors and consultants to resolve issues.
  • Observe confidentiality of all Firm and client matters.
  • Any additional responsibilities as required by management.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • 15+ years of experience in information technology, 10+ years of experience in engineering, and 5+ years of experience in a technical subject matter area.
  • Expert understanding of virtualization/hyperconverged technologies, specifically Nutanix.
  • Expert understanding of implementing proper health/status monitoring for mission critical systems.
  • Expert understanding of networking (routing and switching), including the ability to analyze a packet trace.
  • Expert understanding of encryption and security best practices and methods.
  • Solid understanding of NAS/SAN technologies and virtualized storage.
  • Solid understanding of PowerShell and general scripting.
  • Expert understanding of cloud architecture and design across Azure and AWS, including IAM, landing zones, and hybrid connectivity.
  • Ability to define cross-domain reference architectures, technical standards, and technology roadmaps that guide engineering teams.
  • Ability to lead technology selection and vendor evaluation, balancing technical, security, and business requirements.
  • Proven experience with large enterprise scale environments.
  • Proven desire and ability to learn new technologies.
  • Proven success in leading projects.
  • Proven focus on customer service and business oriented thinking.


Education/Certifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, or a similar field.


Estimated salary range is $175,000 - $225,000. Compensation decisions within the range are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case including but not limited to the individual's skills, experience, and qualifications.
