Department's Website:Summary of Job Duties:This posting will cover multiple positions with various shifts and schedules.
The APP will extend the patient care and administrative services for UAMS physicians in both inpatient and outpatient settings at the Cancer Institute Outpatient Clinic and Infusion areas. APP will be expected provide comprehensive health assessments, determine diagnoses, implement treatment plans, perform procedures, and prescribe medicines and treatments. The APP will also manage health issues for patients, independently or in collaboration with the designated physicians. The APP will work autonomously as well as in collaboration with a variety of individuals to diagnose and manage patient's health care problems; and will serve as a health care resource, interdisciplinary consultant, and patient advocate. The APP will also coordinate the multidisciplinary care of patients, facilitating all necessary consults, assuring that care is timely and appropriate.

Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:
APRN:- Master's Degree in nursing PLUS 2 years nursing experience, preferably in Acute Care APRN
- Licensed Registered Nurse in Arkansas and APRN/CPN License
- Current BLS certification or must successfully obtain certification within the first 30 days of employment.
- Must be able to operate all typical medical equipment essential to performing the job (i.e., scales, procedure equipment, needles, blood pressure equipment, and EKG machines).
- Must have normal communication sensory requirements.
- Ability to comply with CDC Universal Precautions when indicated.
PA:- Master's Degree as a Physician Assistant (PA).
- Licensed Registered Physician Assistant (PA)
- Current BLS certification or must successfully obtain certification within the first 30 days of employment.
- Must be able to operate all typical medical equipment essential to performing the job (i.e., scales, procedure equipment, needles, blood pressure equipment, and EKG machines).
- Must have normal communication sensory requirements.
- Ability to comply with CDC Universal Precautions when indicated.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prescriptive authority and DEA license must be obtained after hire for both APRN and PA roles.

- Coordinate the multidisciplinary care of patients, facilitating all necessary consults, assuring that care is timely and appropriate.
- Interacts with and assists the public in a professional and friendly manner as needed.
- Demonstrates effective communication skills; communicates accurate and complete information; maintains strict confidentiality when necessary.
- Demonstrates positive working relationships with co-workers, management team, and ancillary departments; follows the Core Concepts of Patient and Family Centered Care and the Basic Code of Conduct Guidelines.
- Assist internal and external stakeholders as needed with exceptional customer service.
