JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
A Masters degree in nursing is required. Licensed by Arkansas State Board of Nursing as an Advanced Practice Nurse or Clinical Nurse Specialist. Certification by national certifying body with prescriptive privileges. ACLS certification required.
Experience
Three to five years experience in hospital medicine preferred.

Normal hospital environment. Exposure to biological hazards. Frequent exposure to unpleasant odors. Close eye work. Hearing of normal and soft tones. Distinguish smells. Distinguish temperatures by touch and proximity. May be exposed to airborne and infectious materials. Required to stand, walk, sit, push and pull, use fingers to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls. Reach with hands and arms. Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
JOB SUMMARY
The hospitalist advanced practice nurse or clinical nurse specialist must possess knowledge of professional medical practice and care to administer and evaluate patient care; knowledge of organizational policies, regulations and procedures to administer care; knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care; knowledge of common safety hazard and precautions to establish a safe work environment; skill in applying and modifying the principles, methods, and techniques of medicine to provide on-going patient care, skill in maintaining medical records, skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, families, patient care staff, supervising physicians, medical community, and referring providers. This position is required to utilize independent judgment.
