Function/Duties of Position

Clinical Activities (not assigned administrative, education, or research FTE):
  • Plans and supervises student lab and/or clinical experiences or practice based on teaching assignment.

Faculty Activities (service, scholarship, and research):
  • Clinical APP faculty have an expectation of advancement and activities consistent with faculty pursuits standard work.
  • Participates in scholarly activities based on faculty rank.
    • At the Assistant Professor rank or higher, faculty in the practice mission, demonstrates competence in an area of clinical expertise and engages in inquiry and scholarship that contributes to the practice of clinical practice.
  • Provides effective didactic instruction based on teaching assignment using appropriate instructional technologies to ensure that course outcomes are met.
  • Participates collaboratively in the development, implementation, and evaluation of course content and delivery.
  • Mentors and guides students.
  • Faculty pursuit opportunities specific to position:
    • NA

Other Activities (not covered above):
  • All APPs are expected to support the clinical, education, and research mission of OHSU through routine clinical care that includes working with students, trainees, and patients participating in research, consistent with their role, scope of practice, and applicable contract and institutional policies.

Required Qualifications

Education:
  • Successful completion of a Master's Degree in Nursing or Master of Science in Nursing in a recognized APRN specialty (Certified Nurse Midwife, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, or Nurse Practitioner)
  • DNP/PhD preferred

Registrations, Certifications and/or Licenses:
  • Current RN and APRN licensure with the Oregon Board of Nursing.
  • Current national certification in the area of specialization.
  • Current BLS, ACLS or PALS Certification as indicated for the position
  • DEA Certification.

Experience:
  • 2 years of clinical practice experience preferred.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Teach and evaluate physical assessment skills utilized for comprehensive head to toe physical exam in clinic practice
