DescriptionRemote Applied Research Consultant The Applied Research Consultant partners with senior leaders to solve complex workplace and organizational challenges through strategy and consulting. This role transforms data and insights into actionable recommendations that improve organizational performance and inform strategic decision-making. Success in this position requires strong analytical thinking, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to build trusted relationships with clients while facilitating meaningful discussions that drive measurable business outcomes.
You'll Support Meaningful Work By: - Leading workplace strategy and consulting engagements from discovery through delivery, ensuring high-quality outcomes that align with client objectives.
- Facilitating client workshops, interviews, and engagement activities to uncover insights and understand organizational needs.
- Analyzing qualitative and quantitative data to identify patterns, synthesize findings, and develop actionable recommendations.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, sales partners, and consulting colleagues to shape solutions and strengthen client relationships.
- Developing compelling presentations, reports, and deliverables that communicate complex insights to executive and non-technical audiences.
- Supporting business development efforts by contributing to proposals, scoping discussions, and opportunities to secure new consulting engagements.
- Managing multiple client projects simultaneously while balancing timelines, budgets, quality expectations, and confidentiality requirements.
Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Business, Social Sciences, Architecture/Design, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of experience in consulting, workplace strategy, research, business strategy, organizational transformation, or a related client-facing field.
- Experience facilitating client discussions, workshops, interviews, or stakeholder engagement sessions.
- Experience analyzing and synthesizing qualitative and/or quantitative data into actionable business recommendations.
- Strong written, verbal, presentation, and facilitation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with executive audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities simultaneously.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%.
Desired Skills and Experience - Master's degree in a related field.
- Experience in workplace strategy, management consulting, organizational transformation, or human-centered design.
- Experience supporting business development, proposal development, or client pursuits.
- Strong executive facilitation, stakeholder management, and consulting skills.
- Familiarity with workplace, employee, or organizational research and strategy development.
Compensation In compliance with pay transparency laws, the annual base salary range for this position is $118,200 - $184,800 USD. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Steelcase considers factors such as, but not limited to, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Base salary ranges may be higher in select metropolitan and premium-pay markets within the United States. Additional compensation information will be provided during the recruitment process upon request.
