Job Title: Embedded Systems Engineer - Drive Assist / Controls
Location: Dearborn, MI
Job Type: W2 Contract
Expected hours per week: 40 hours per week
Schedule: 7:00am-3:30pm
Pay Range: $40 to $42 per hour
Summary Supports supplier integration and software delivery within the driver assist features. This role focuses on embedded systems design support, software change management, and cross-functional coordination to ensure successful development, validation, and release of vehicle software.
Responsibilities - Guide suppliers through GPDS requirements and signoff processes
- Support development of driver assists features and embedded systems
- Manage software work packages (release documentation, validation, OTA updates)
- Collaborate on cross-module network communication (OTA, CAN, CMA, E2E, PARSED)
- Investigate and resolve Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) and support Quality Early Detection (QED)
- Assist in service manual development and diagnostics specification release
- Support Breadboard/HiL testing, issue resolution, and software updates
- Support prototype builds including root cause analysis and software flashing
- Ensure compliance with Central Software requirements (ASPICE)
- Lead Software Technical Design Reviews (TDRs)
- Support assembly plant End-of-Line (EOL) setup and issue resolution
- Participate in Agile software development processes
Education/Experience Required - Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science
- 5+ years of experience in embedded systems design or development (chassis or powertrain)
- At least 2+ years of experience in chassis or powertrain controls design/development
- Background in design & release engineering with strong technical involvement (not purely PM)
Education / Experience Preferred - Experience with requirements and supplier management
- Knowledge of FMEA and quality processes
- Familiarity with vehicle networks (CAN, etc.)
- Experience with data acquisition systems (digital/analog)
- Exposure to system analysis tools and modeling (MATLAB/Simulink, Stateflow, SysML)
- Strong problem-solving skills with ability to troubleshoot vehicle/system issues
- Proven communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments bringing concepts to production
