Full Job Description
The Opportunity:

The UCF IT department within Facilities and Business Operations is seeking to hire an Application Systems Analyst III. This role is responsible for designing and delivering IT solutions to support university operations and strategic priorities. The analyst partners with stakeholders to gather requirements, develop functional solutions, and ensure systems align with university policies and standards. The analyst also supports system implementation, enhancement, and ongoing operations.

Responsibilities:

Business Analysis & Solution Delivery
  • Gather and document business and functional requirements across the system lifecycle.
  • Translate needs into functional specifications, system designs, and solution recommendations.
  • Support development, implementation, and system conversions in collaboration with technical teams.
  • Manage project timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communication.
  • Independently lead projects and resolve complex issues.
  • Provide guidance to junior staff as needed.


System Support & Process Improvement
  • Maintain and enhance systems through upgrades, patches, and ongoing support.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, automation, and system efficiency.
  • Test and validate system changes to ensure business requirements are met.


Technical Support & Issue Resolution
  • Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate resolution with internal teams and vendors.
  • Document and track incidents through resolution.
  • Communicate system impacts, status updates, and resolutions to stakeholders.


Compliance & Continuous Improvement
  • Ensure systems align with university policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support data integrity, system performance, and operational consistency.
  • Contribute to process improvements and clear documentation.


Professional Development
  • Maintain current knowledge of systems, technologies, and industry best practices.
  • Perform other duties in support of university IT objectives.


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and 4 years of relevant experience; or High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 8 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Hands-on experience supporting or implementing ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms (e.g., TeamDynamix, BMC, Remedy), including core modules such as Incident, Request, Change, Problem, Knowledge, and CMDB.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex service management and operational needs into functional requirements, workflows, user stories, and system configurations.
  • Experience in diagnosing complex platform issues, workflow failures, or integration errors, and coordinating with cross-functional teams or vendors to drive resolution.
  • Knowledge of both centralized and decentralized IT environments and the challenges of delivering consistent service management across multiple business units.
  • Experience developing and executing test plans, validating workflows and configurations, and ensuring system changes align with defined requirements.
  • Ability to analyze and optimize ITIL-based processes (Incident, Change, Problem, Request), utilizing integrations, REST APIs, and CMDB/data management to drive automation, data accuracy, and service efficiency.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain clear documentation (process flows, requirements, knowledge articles), and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to support team development and review work of less experienced analysts.


Special Instructions to the Applicants:

Position requires a valid Class E driver's license. This position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct University business.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $75,809 - $95,000. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.
