Job Description

Position: Application Engineering Specialist

Duties: Responsible for leading product design, performance and reliability of new Frame or Cradle structural products programs, through a coordinated interface with the customer and with internal company resources to ensure product met time and quality requirements. Liaison to customer engineering on structural products and all product related issues to understand design priorities and manage engineering programs and projects, propose solutions within current team or redirect to proper department. Consolidate agreements with customer and plant to determine design, performance and dimensional requirements for structural products follow to MES. Generate design improvements ideas to achieve lighter weight, stronger, better performing, and lower cost designs through brainstorming workshop or regular meetings with MDT. Support new product launch activity at the customer and at Metalsa facilities following MES and information generated by the plant, activity includes to mention a few but not limited to weld quality visual inspection and length vs. weld document, ensure build level to release, dimensional reports I compliant to customer general GD&T, and hole inspection for presence, added and/or removal parts. Support other technical department activity an communicate overall activities and status such as testing updates and prototypes status. Manage design release package (BOM, 3D, 2D, etc.) by using Metalsa Project System to ensure product launch in quality and time. Approve or reject deviations from manufacturing process following Metalsa Quality Standards to track changes verses original design by using CAE, statistic, tolerance dimensional to mention a few. Provide support to Innovation, DFSS, De-Couple projects by following up with multidisciplinary teams in order to meet project objectives in time and quality. Lead product verification workshop according to MPS to ensure feasible product. Support quotation process, service parts, on early stages by providing documentation and interaction with multidisciplinary teams. Monitor design KPI, providing design and development engineering performance data for Quality Management System (MPS) according to technical process sheet to track quality system deliverables all programs on IEM (Chief) Per program (AE). Participate actively in all efforts for product improvement and the engineering process.

Salary: $76,650 - $135,018 per year

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Industrial Engineering, Manufacture Engineering, or related discipline.

Experience: 2 years of experience in the job offered, or in a manufacturing application engineering position. Experience must include working in a cross-functional environment supporting the design and technical reviews of structural products and integrated chassis systems manufacturing. Must have hands-on experience supporting the launch of new product, including managing test and engineering studies for product validation or improvement. Experience can be gained concurrently. Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training or experience.
