A Snapshot of Your Day

An Application Engineer will be responsible for technical sales of steam turbine application design and functioning experience.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • You will be assigned an inquiry and then determine the client's needs and requirements from an application standpoint.
  • Basic thermal calculations will be required as well as fundamental understanding of rotor dynamics and blade stresses the AE will need to develop costs and establish the sell price. The proposal is then drafted, complying with Siemens Energy policies and procedures.
  • You will be responsible for consolidating all aspects of the order before it's released to project management for execution. You will attend any kick-off meeting and continue to support any questions that may occur during the execution of the order.
  • You will learn various frames for each nameplate the team is responsible for and help develop sales tools and training material as needed.

What You Bring
  • An Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equal with 8 to 10 years of experience in the relevant Oil & Petrochemical area. Those with more experience may be considered for a more senior level.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and writing skills
  • Comprehensive working knowledge with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Travel (estimated 25 %) in order to present to clients or regular sales calls
  • Ability to listen to customer and retain important facts
  • Develop complex solutions and sell the benefits to the client
  • Knowledge of different industrial standards like API 611,612
