Responsibilities:- Provide product engineering support to product managers, sales, channel partners and customers.
- Work with customers to create custom OS images for deployment by production.
- Testing and diagnosis of issues related to software, hardware and hardware drivers as related to the specific OS.
- Maintain local copy of OS images and software modules from HQ.
- Assist in creating customer specific solutions consisting of: pre/post sale technical assessments, feasibility testing, technical response to customer bids.
- Specific customer software testing on a variety of hardware platforms.
- Conduct product testing while working with senior engineers and product managers from North America and Taiwan.
- Work with multiple teams across Advantech locations to lead technical discussions and gather critical information for responses to customer inquiries.
- Occasionally participate in trade shows to demonstrate products and support cross-functional teams
- Occasional travel may be required, up to 5% per year.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer engineering or computer science, or an associate degree with equivalent experience
- Hardware Experience with x86 PC's and components as well as ARM platforms.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Application Engineering or a related technical role.
- Firm knowledge of Windows OS required as well as Linux Debian and/or Ubuntu and imaging.
- Knowledge of Wi-Fi and LTE technology and implementation.
- Experience updating Bios.
- Good communication skills through voice and email
Nice to Have:- Experience with Nvidia GPU API and deployment, highly desirable.
- Experience with Android deployment in automation
- Experience in hardware design or technical support in PC or related field
- Ability to use a multi-meter and oscilloscope and review schematics in troubleshooting hardware problems
- Previous customer service experience is a plus
- Networking topology, TCP/IP, VPN experience is a plus
