Full Job Description
ELS is hiring for the position of Application Developer in Plano, Texas. What you'll do: The Application Developer designs, develops and provides ongoing maintenance of consumer-facing and internal web applications. This position includes the transition of UI design wireframes into code that provides visual elements of applications, provides technical integration of graphical designs from web designers into web applications, supports and enhances the existing continuous integration and automated deployment environment, builds reusable codes and libraries for future use, optimizes web applications for maximum speed and scalability and collaborates with other team members to develop new user-facing features, server-side processes and enhancements to core application functionality. Your job will include: • Develop and maintain server-side logic components for web applications (e.g., .NET, PHP, Java.) • Design and implement appropriate security and data protection functions. • Develop and maintain existing REIT endpoints and web services. • Draft standards for website and endpoint development. • Compare and contrast the company website to other leading travel and leisure websites and make recommendations with respect to new functionality or enhancements to existing functionality. • Complete special projects as necessary. Experience & skills you need: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. • 3+ years of experience in website development, programming and analysis using Microsoft Office Suite development tools. • 1+ year of experience in the development and maintenance of server-side application logic (e.g., REST endpoint and/or web services.) • 1+ year of experience in the configuration and use of continuous integration platform (i.e., TeamCity) and automated deployment tools (e.g., Octopus, Deploy.) • 1+ year of experience in the development and maintenance of applications in PHP, NodeJS and/or Java technologies. • Proficiency with advanced Javascript libraries and framework, including JQuery, JQuery Mobile and Angular JS. • Proficient understanding of web mark-up, including HTML5 and CSS, as well as OWASP security principles. • Solid understanding of asynchronous request, handling, partial page updates and AJAX. • Basic understanding of image authoring tools to crop, resize or adjust images. • Strong understanding of cross-browser compatibility testing tools, code versioning tools (e.g., GIT or Subversion) and responsive design principles. • Excellent communications skills and the ability to explain complex technical topics and procedures to technical and non-technical audiences.
