Full Job Description
Data Science and Engineering (‘DSE’) at Netflix is aimed at using data, analytics, causal inference, machine learning (ML), and sciences to improve various aspects of our business. We are looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer to join our Games DSE team to lead the design and implementation of robust data architectures and analytical toolings. This role will partner closely with Game Studio stakeholders and Data Scientists to transform raw data into high-quality, performant data models that drive critical business understandings and decisions. What You Will Do: • Data Foundations: Design, build, and maintain scalable data models that serve as the source of truth for game development, launch, live services, strategy, and planning. • Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner with Game Developers, Product Managers, and Data Scientists/Engineers to understand data needs and translate complex business requirements into technical data solutions. • Analytical Rigor and Visual Storytelling: Combine grounded statistical methodology with visualization engineering to transform complex quantitative analysis into high-impact dashboards and custom data tools (e.g., Plotly Dash and Tableau) that drive business decisions. • Engineering Excellence: Deliver scalable data solutions by merging advanced SQL and Python proficiency with data engineering workflows, ensuring reliability through engineering best practices like CI/CD, testing, version control and monitoring. • Business Strategy: Proactively bring data-driven perspectives to the table that challenge assumptions, uncover growth opportunities, and shape the future direction of Netflix Games. • Operational Balance: Manage high-impact, long-term infrastructure projects while remaining agile enough to handle ad hoc data requests. Who You Are: • You have at least 2 years of experience working in the Games industry in an Analytics, Analytics Engineering, or Data Engineering capacity. • You have 5+ years of experience with an advanced degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Engineering, Mathematics, CS) or 8+ years of relevant professional experience. • You are an expert in SQL and possess deep experience with Python for data manipulation and automation. • You have a strong ability to translate ambiguous business requests into concrete data products. • You have a strong bias to action, favoring iteration and rapid results over perfect but delayed solutions. • You possess exceptional communication with technical and non-technical audiences; you can effectively influence senior stakeholders and explain complex technical concepts with clarity. • You are proactively learning and adopting AI capabilities to supercharge your workflow. Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $330,000.00 - $566,000.00. This compensation range will vary based on location. Netflix provides comprehensive benefits including Health Plans, Mental Health support, a 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer match, Stock Option Program, Disability Programs, Health Savings and Flexible Spending Accounts, Family-forming benefits, and Life and Serious Injury Benefits. We also offer paid leave of absence programs. Full-time hourly employees accrue 35 days annually for paid time off to be used for vacation, holidays, and sick paid time off. Full-time salaried employees are immediately entitled to flexible time off. See more details about our Benefits here.
