Full Job Description

The Content Finance DSE team is the analytical backbone of that ecosystem. We build the data products, metrics, and insights that power how Netflix allocates content budgets, tracks production finance, and steers long-term content investment strategy. We're looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer to join our team — someone who combines deep technical craft with strong business partnership and a product mindset.

In this role, you will:

  • Be a strategic partner to Content Finance stakeholders — CFP&A, content planning, production finance, and content accounting — identifying impactful analytical problems and delivering data solutions that drive better decisions

  • Own business-critical data products end-to-end: from metric definition and data modeling to documentation, testing, and ongoing reliability

  • Champion a "data as a product" mindset — setting the standard for robust documentation, testing, and model design that makes data easy to understand, trust, and extend

  • Design and maintain core metrics and semantic models that power planning cycles, forecasting, and executive reporting

  • Drive root-cause analysis on data issues and workflow gaps — asking "why" to understand the drivers and proactively improve pipelines, models, and definitions

  • Partner cross-functionally with Data Engineering, Finance, Data Science, and downstream consumers to define the future vision for key finance data products

  • Mentor and uplevel teammates, sharing best practices in analytics engineering, code quality, and product-minded data development

  • Leverage AI tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, MCP servers) to accelerate development and share learnings with the team

About you:

  • 8+ years of experience in analytics or data engineering, ideally in high-stakes, business-critical data environments

  • Expert in SQL; proficient in Python for data wrangling, scripting, and pipeline work

  • Strong data modeler with experience designing scalable, future-proof models that serve multiple stakeholders and use cases

  • Familiarity with DBT or other semantic modeling tools; experience with workflow orchestration

  • You have a "data product owner" mindset — you think beyond the pipeline to the end user, the decision they need to make, and how the data product unlocks value

  • Exceptional communication skills; comfortable presenting methodology and findings to both technical and non-technical partners, including executive leadership

  • Proven ability to drive cross-functional alignment on metric definitions and data standards in a matrixed organization

  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity; a self-starter who takes ownership and drives projects forward with minimal oversight

  • Curious and open to leveraging GenAI and emerging AI tools where they create durable value

  • Netflix culture resonates with you

Nice to have:

  • Experience working with financial datasets, FP&A workflows, or content finance systems

  • Experience with big data technologies (Spark, Iceberg) and lakehouse architectures

  • Familiarity with LookML or other semantic layer tools
