Full Job Description
This position determines division of proceeds from sale of oil and/or gas produced from wells in which the company has an interest. Prior to division of interest (DOI) set-up of producing unit or changes to ownership in current setups, analyze applicable leases, conveyance documents, contracts, and legal title files for proper well set ups and maintenance. In addition, responsible for review of title opinions, curative action reports, joint operating agreements, unit designations, plats, and letter agreements to accurately set up new DOI's, maintain current DOI's and handle inquiries regarding ownership interests. Complete special projects as needed.

Target Responsibilities

  • Under general supervision handles owner calls and correspondence and is fully competent in standard Land Department procedures.
  • Responsible for the setup, revision and maintenance of all division order information (operated and non-operated), which includes understanding lease terms, interpreting relevant contracts, legal files and title opinions as well as manipulating unit tracts, understanding the purposes of bearer groups and all other burdens impacting ownership to properly calculate NRI on the well deck.
  • Revise working interest and royalty interest based upon title opinions, deeds, assignments, transfers and decrees furnished by lessors or working interest owners to ensure proper payment in order to safeguard our interests.
  • Provides training in processes and systems along with perpetual mentoring for Division Order Analysts I and II.
  • Works closely with Lease Record counterpart to ensure preparedness for TIL.
  • Assists Senior Analysts and Specialists with title, lease, Unit Designations, "As Drilled" Plats and additional contract analysis to finalize RI/NRI and WI calculations to complete all new DOI setups by accounting deadlines driven by the drill schedule.
  • Performs records analysis for Legal, Title and Land Departments as requested.
  • Assist with special projects as needed.
  • Intermediate position requiring the ability to handle complex work and all aspects of the job using a wide knowledge of the field and industry.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 5+ years of oil and gas land experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in SAP/PRA and Quorum strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent skills in Excel and Word.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
