Job Summary

Responsible for analyzing and improving all facets of the Distributed Energy Resources interconnection process using appropriate management systems and measurement programs that are responsive to the installation of distributed energy resources interconnections. Coordinate with customers and facilitate any required engineering services and associated management in accordance with good business practices, Company policy and procedures, and State Regulations or Guidelines.

The position reports to the Manager - Projects Units in the Projects group and consists of combination of both field and office work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the central point of contact and facilitate Distributed Energy Resources applications within UI including engineering disciplines, operations, and all associated departments from the initial application to final interconnection.
  • Analyze, design, and implement continuous improvements related to cycle time, cost, and customer satisfaction through process changes across the entire Distributed Energy Resources process.
  • Work directly with appropriate customer representatives to coordinate work and resolve moderately complex interconnection issues.
  • Perform activities toward the Company's goals of having a best-in-class Distributed Energy Resources process.
  • Analyze and review all completed Distributed Energy Resources interconnection agreements and coordinate operational activities required to ensure contractual obligations between the Company and interconnecting customer are maintained.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget, revising monthly cash flow, and preparing variance analysis in terms of actual expenditures, baseline, and original budget.
  • Prepare invoicing for interconnection projects.
  • Provide metrics regarding group performance on a routine basis.


Required Qualifications
  • Five years of experience in performing analytics, with experience in the related subject matter preferred.
  • Strong quantitative skills with the ability to use spreadsheets or similar programs.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills with the ability to use the MS Office Suite.
  • Must be self-directed and have demonstrated initiative as well as the ability to lead people and teams.
  • BS/BA Degree from an accredited college/university in a related analytic discipline including, but not limited to Liberal Arts, Social Science, Computer or other Technical related field, or Business.BS/BA Degree


Preferred Qualifications
  • GIS & SAP experience
  • Familiarity with the distributed generation interconnection process as well as regulatory requirement is a plus, but not required.
